3 Best Inkjet Printers For Students

!9#: 3 Best Inkjet Printers For Students

Most university students find inkjet printers to be the best choice for printing out papers and projects. For big printing jobs, most universities allow their students to use library or laboratory printers, but any serious student will testify that having your own personal printer is essential.

Although laser printers print must faster and with much more clarity, the price of a laser printer and toner usually outweigh any advantages for students. Most inkjet printers can be purchased for under £100 and can also print in colour. More recently, almost all inkjet printers also print digital pictures on photo paper.

The best three inkjet printers currently on the market are the Canon Pixma iP4500, the expensive HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One, and the inexpensive and durable HP Photosmart D5460. Almost all the printers by Canon and HP are well made and worth their money, but these three make the grade for students' needs.

Canon Pixma iP4500 Photo Printer

The Canon Pixma iP4500, priced under £100 is a great photo printer with resolution up to 9600 x 2400 colour dpi. The iP4500 not only prints on standard paper, but also prints photo prints on photo paper-and has two different trays to help you keep them separate. With speeds up to 31 pages per minute (b/w) and 24 pages per minute (colour), the iP4500 is a past printer that won't keep you waiting.

HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One Printer

The HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One printer is an excellent multifunction printer, priced much higher than the typical inkjet (at £200 - 250 depending on the vendor). This printer is for the digital photo lover. Although the printer is slower than many, the quality of print produced is worth the wait. For someone looking for a printer, scanner, and copier (let's face it, filing receipts electronically by scanning them sounds like a great idea considering most students' organisational skills) this is the place to look.

HP Photosmart D5460 Inkjet Printer

Finally, the HP Photosmart D5460 sits at the opposite end of the C8180's spectrum of price: anywhere from £50 - £70. The D5460 is an excellent choice for someone looking for a bargain printer that doesn't look like a bargain printer. The D5460 does photo prints well considering its price, but only marginally if you're used to the more refined machines. One beautiful feature is the machine's extra dark black pigment for printing text that gives the text a richer, smoother, and fuller look against white paper. Sticking with the affordable theme, the printer cartridges for the D5460 are affordable as well.
